The Responsible Person, as defined in fire safety legislation, has to conduct a fire risk assessment. This FRA will decide the appropriate type and number of Fire Extinguishers necessary to provide a suitable / sufficient cover for the premises.

The equipment provided for fire safety must be subject to a system of suitable maintenance and be maintained in an efficient working order and in good repair. The minimum expected level of servicing of Fire Extinguishers should be annually by a competent service engineer, in-line with BS-EN3.
